The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of around.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the rate of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
